What Moves Automatically

This page provides details of the workloads that will be automatically transitioned from your current @trust.nhs.uk account to your @NHS.net account.

OneDrive

  • Your OneDrive files and folders
    All files/folders in your OneDrive will be transferred to your @NHS.net account.
  • File Versions
    For Files <80 MB, users will see the latest version and from 4 preceding version.
    For Files >80M, only the most recent copy of the document will be migrated.
  • Files shared / permissions
    Users who have shared files/folders from their OneDrive will need to reshare as necessary, after switchover. This includes ‘sharing links’ that you have previously provided colleagues.
  • Recycle Bin
    Items in the OneDrive Recycle Bin will not be moved to the new OneDrive Recycle Bin.
  • Embedded Links in Documents
  • Synced SharePoint Sites attached to OneDrive
  • M365 Security and Compliance Features incl. sensitivity labels
  • File Shortcuts
  • Personal SharePoint Lists
  • PowerPlatform Integration with OneDrive

Teams & M365 Groups

  • Standard and Private Channels
  • Team Owners and Members
    All Microsoft Teams confirmed to be in scope will be transitioned to your NHS.net account, including channel conversations, channels, files and most tabs (OneNote, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF Tabs).
  • SharePoint Content Associated to each Team 
  • Channel Conversations (15 days)
    Remaining conversations are archived into a HTML file as a ‘tab’ in the Team
  • File Versions
    For Files <80 MB, users will see the latest version and from 4 preceding version.
    For Files >80M, only the most recent copy of the document will be migrated.
  • Images in Channel Posts
    Note – these are copied as a link in the post in NHS.net
  • Planner
    Including planner tasks and comments. User will need to re-pin the Planner in Teams.
    Note – Personal Planner are NOT migrated.
  • White Board
    Note – user will need to re-pin the whiteboard in Teams as a ‘website’
  • Unique Permissions with associated SharePoint site
  • M365 Groups without MS Teams enabled
  • M365 Security and Compliance Features incl. sensitivity labels
  • Third Party App Integrations
  • B2B connection to External Org for Shared Channels
  • Private 1:1 Chats
    This includes ‘self chat’
  • Recycle Bin
    Items in a Microsoft Teams Recycle Bin will not be moved to the new Recycle Bin in NHS.net.
  • Customised Teams Settings, Rich Cards, Bots, Wiki sections in pages
  • Voice Recordings
  • PowerPlatform Features for Teams

SharePoint

  • SharePoint sites, Sub-sites, Document Libraries and lists
  • Hub settings and associations
  • File Metadata
  • Sites and Templates supported by the migration tooling
  • Root level site permissions
  • Webparts supported by the migration tooling
  • File Versions
    For Files <80 MB, users will see the latest version and from 4 preceding version.
    For Files >80M, only the most recent copy of the document will be migrated.
  • Site Logos & Customisation
  • M365 Security and Compliance Features
    M365 Security and Compliance features are not transferred (legal hold, retention labels and information protection policies and labels).
  • Workflows and Customisations
    Workflows and Customisations embedded into SharePoint e.g. JSON code
  • Recycle Bin
    Items in a SharePoint site collection Recycle Bin will not be moved to the new Recycle Bin.
  • Sharing Links
  • SharePoint Shortcuts
  • Personal SharePoint Lists
    SharePoint personal lists (including those stored in your OneDrive) are not in scope for migration and will not be moved automatically as part of the transition to NHS.net.
  • Some webparts not supported by the migration tooling

Other

  • OneNote
    Users will need to follow steps to relink their OneNote notebook in their NHS.net to their OneNote app. Steps found here: https://migrate.nhs.net/guidance/migrate-onenote/
  • Team Meeting Recordings
    > Individual Meetings – migrated and stored in the individual’s OneDrive
    > Meetings set up in a Teams Channel – migrated and stored in the SPO of the Teams Channel
